If you are filing with your insurance, fees are subject to maximum amount allowed per session by your insurance provider.  Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
  • Do I have mental health/substance abuse insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met? (This applies to both in network and out-of-network benefits.)
  • How much is my copay per session?
  • How many sessions per year does my policy cover?
  • What is the allowed amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Seeking out therapy is an individual choice. There are many reasons why people choose to seek therapy. Sometimes they want to deal with long-standing psychological issues or problems with anxiety or depression. Other times it’s in response to unexpected life changes, such as a divorce or work transitions. Or, you may simply be interested in pursuing personal exploration and growth. Working with a therapist can help provide insight, support, and new strategies for all types of life challenges. Therapy is right for anyone who is interested in getting more out of life by increasing accountability, creating greater self-awareness, and working towards change.
Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated many difficulties you’ve faced, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. Therapy provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools, you need to avoid triggers, re-direct damaging patterns, and overcome the challenges you face.
In some cases, a combination of medication and therapy is the right course of action. If requested, we can coordinate with your primary care physician to help you determine what is best for you. It is well-established that mental and emotional problems, and the pain they cause, cannot be solved solely by medication in the long-term. Instead of treating the symptom, therapy addresses the cause of our distress and the behavior patterns that limit our progress. You can best achieve sustainable growth and a greater sense of well-being with an integrative approach to wellness.
